KIDS PROGRAM
The Kids & Cadets Junior JKD sessions are held in South London in the Streatham / Balham area every Wednesday and Thursday These high energy, fun classes combines basic elements of kickboxing and Filipino stick fighting (Kali / Escrima) with games designed to improve key attributes required for martial arts. These include balance, co-ordination, strength and most importantly fun! If the kids don’t enjoy themselves, they won’t want to train. Along with the physical element there’s a strong focus on discipline, confidence and teamwork. The Cadets program bridges the gap between the kids and adult classes with a greater focus on technique and fitness. There’s still plenty of smiles though The current Junior JKD Lion Cubs program is open for students from 4- 7 years and Junior JKD Cadets from 8-13 years.
Carl Jackson
Carl has been training martial arts for over 25 years and teaching for the past 18. He studied Wing Chun Kung Fu for a number of years before finding Jeet Kune Do/ Kali at the Bob Breen Academy where he has been training since 1999. During this time he has achieved his Black Belt under Guro Breen and was the resident Escrima instructor at the Academy for over 10 years. He also holds one of a very small number of Associate level 3 instructorships and is the South London affiliate of 4D Combat. He’s an instructor in both Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipino Martial Arts under Guros Dan Inosanto, David Onuma and Rick Faye. He also holds the title Magtutudlo in the traditional Filipino system of De Campo 1-2-3 Orinhal directly under the Caballero family as well as trainee instructor under Grand Master Oliver Bersabel in Koredas Obra Mano Arnis.
