Hello everybody. Fred Senechal here. My tennis journey began at the age of 10 when I first started playing the game at home in northern France. At 14, I left home to join the tennis club Phocéen Lumigny in Marseille to train and to learn to teach tennis. Here I was a hitting partner for Paul-Henri Mattieu, who subsequently reached a world ranking of 12.
In 1995 I joined the Regional Sports College of Reims to train to be a professional tennis coach under the instruction of French national coach, Gerard Valentin. After that, I taught in a number of different clubs in France, including Club Med and then, to improve my English, I spent a year in England teaching tennis at the Nottingham tennis centre.
